Express yourself! - Cappuccino Update 7

A new Cappuccino update arrives with great new adjustments for your enjoyment! Check what we added below!

New features:

  • Avatar customization expanded:
We added new 42 hair colors, 40 new shirt/pants colors and more skin tones to help make your avatar a truer version of yourself. Play around with colors and wear neon pink hair or sport a fiery red shirt! The choice is yours (and for free)!

  • Dish rebalance:
Our newest staff member BigSmall has tackled the issue with the crazily confusing dish XP system and proposed a whole rework of the OG and new foods present in the game. As a result of this, all foods had their XP specifications changed. Please give your (polite) opinions in the forum to help him fine tune the changes!

  • Luxury points for all:
We removed the limit of luxury points for items bought with cafedollars had and now all of them can have higher luxury points. For reference, every 4000 cafedollars is worth +1 luxury point. To see changes and update your luxury status, please store and display your expensive items again!

  • Swimming in money? The Fish Fountain collection is here!
We added 3 variants of the Fish Fountain decoration to the furniture shop that unlock at level 10. Watch out: they cost a pretty penny! If you have loads of cash lying around, you can place them and show off your wealth!
Bronze Fish Fountain: 99.999 cafedollars / +24 Luxury
Silver Fish Fountain: 999.999 cafedollars / +249 Luxury
Gold Fish Fountain: 9.999.999 cafedollars / +999 Luxury
These items were added to give players a sort of end goal to aim for. Will you profit enough to afford all three statues or multiple of them?

Restored features:

  • You can now fire your waiters!
Implemented the ability to fire your true, loyal waiters and waitresses. You'll also be able to gain achievement points for the "Grilling Garnisher" achievement from now on. We'll handle the HR complaints and severance pay. Don't worry!

  • Event items vaulted:
All of the event exclusive items have been removed from the Wheel of Fortune loot pool due to events now working properly. The items are now vaulted and will return on their respective events. Easter will go throughout the entire month of April, Halloween will go throughout the entire month of October and Christmas will go throughout the entire month of December. While the events are active, it'll be possible to get the items!

  • The Cotton Candy Machine's availability has been changed:
Instead of being always available on the Wheel of Fortune, it'll now be only available during every weekend. A dialog will also appear after logging in while it's available! Try your luck and see if you can get your hands on this elusive item.
On February 9th, which is Monday, in this exclusive case, the Cotton Candy Machine will be available to commemorate the release of this update!

System changes:

  • Fixed an issue when rejoining, that if the player rejoined while the waiter was on its way to deliver the dish to a costumer, the costumer would start eating nothing and the plate wouldn't be synced.

  • Fixed an issue that if a waiter had multiple clean dish tasks, they would start cleaning them using magic, by making the plate disappear while they were working at a counter.

  • Made various improvements to make the "eating forever" and "npc stack" issue less likely to happen.

  • Made various improvements to make connection issues less present when playing on Ruffle. However note that the Café will still be extremely laggy if you choose to play there.

  • Fixed an issue that made it possible to use inappropriate names when hiring a new waiter.

  • Fixed an issue that made it possible to use the Wheel of Fortune even when being under level 9.

  • Popularity gain and loss has been reduced from -0.2 and +0.2 to -0.1 and +0.1, respectively. Expect your popularity to change after a while!

  • Fixed an issue where the "unsufficient gold and/or cafédollars" popup wouldn't show when trying to buy an object on Editor mode.

Final thoughts:

For this update, we want to overhaul the whole progression system that now rewards players with better dishes for leveling up and playing actively. The Luxury changes come as a way to mitigate the pay to win aspect where the player had to spend gold to get good Luxury points. The fixed bugs also help give the Café a more smooth performance, without unrealistic snapping.

We are going to analyze player performance and feedback based on the XP changes and the next patch will provide changes to the profit system. Please report any new bugs or concerns in the forum in our Discord server so we can help out.

Thanks for playing on Cappuccino!
