Easter, Cookfests, and much more! | Cappuccino Update 10.5

Easter, Cookfests, and much more! | Cappuccino Update 10.5

For this update, we've focused on adjusting the game's economy, improving offline selling and many other minor changes that will help shape the future of Cappuccino.

Game changes made in 10.5

  • Reduced an achievement exploit that granted users a massive amount of XP and cash in a few hours by deliberately buying and selling thousands of furniture items repeatedly.
    • The users who performed this exploit had the corresponding amount of XP removed and adjusted to the new value. Users who leveled it up normally kept their stats untouched.
    • While the exploit also helped you earn a lot of cash, we're not going to remove anything from anyone cash-wise.
    • While we understand this change is not appreciated, we did it to still keep the game cohesive, thinking of those that did not know about the exploit and played normally. The exploit was slowly becoming "ball knowledge" and we don't want it to become a necessary part of the gameplay loop or a trick every good player has to do. This change is not up for discussion since the exploit granted unfair advantage and changed the leaderboard noticeably and unfairly to others that did not know about it.
    • Users that exploited this achievement will not be restricted from playing the game but, depending on the case, will need to level up again normally due to the changes.
  • Fixed critical bugs, including but not limited to:
    • A very specific bug would occur if you moved a stove that was dirty without cleaning it, initiated a cooking task with it still "dirty" server-side, and you wouldn't be able to move it to that specific spot it was dirty initially ever again.
    • Offline selling would for some reason grant double the cash you earned, since an additional check was included accidentally and I never noticed it (sorry...)
  • Made changes to the offline selling algorithm:
    • It now depends on your level, café rating, seats, and waiters. Selling also slows down over time, and very low stock will now clear properly instead of leaving tiny amounts behind.
    • Your café rating can now also change while you are offline. If your café stays out of stock for too long, your rating may go down.
    • Visits now update offline selling immediately, and when you log back in, you will see a proper summary of what sold while you were away.

Cookfest is coming!

Cookfest

Check out all the details about this community event below:

  • What is a Cookfest?

    • Cookfest (short for Cooking Festival) is an event that will happen over the course of a weekend to celebrate the joy of cooking! The Cookfest usually starts at 9PM BRT on Friday and ends by 9PM BRT on Sunday.
    • During a Cookfest, cook food to gain points and contribute to the global goal! If it's met, all participants will get cash and gold prizes added to their accounts!
    • Surpassing the initial goal will also net players a boost to the base prizes!
    • The top 50%, 20% and 10% contributors of the event will also get an added bonus on top of that. The top players' contributions will be recorded and they'll receive a player title in the Cappuccino Discord server.
  • What changes during a Cookfest?

    • A progress bar will appear across the site indicating how many points have been registered.
    • Special music will play!
    • The food chosen for Cookfest will temporarily have its stats altered to cook much faster and will have all of its ingredients changed to "Event Ingredients"!
    • The food chosen for Cookfest will temporarily have its portions, XP and profit adjusted to match the cooking time.
    • For certain Cookfests, the ability to create new Co-Ops will be disabled.
    • Mastery points won during Cookfest will still apply to the food chosen even after the event ends. Use this opportunity to get Masteries on dishes that are otherwise difficult to cook!
  • How do I participate in a Cookfest?

    • Your player level has to be at least 4.
    • Simply cook and serve at least 1 dish from the event to sign in!
  • When is the Cookfest happening?

    • The first Cookfest "Cookfest Premiere" will be available around early April while all the functionalities are being worked on behind the scenes. We'll let the community know more details about upcoming Cookfests when the time comes! Stay tuned to the News in the Discord server to be among the first ones to know!
    • After the first Cookfest happens, it's planned for one to happen every second or third week of the month.
  • How are rewards claimed?

    • After a Cookfest ends, the rewards will be deposited directly to your in-game funds at least 2 hours after the event ends. The server will restart to deactivate the event and the values will be reflected.
  • How often will the progress bar and leaderboard update?

    • Every 5 minutes.

Regarding Easter

The Easter Season is scheduled to start March 25th to April 30th!

  • During Easter, the player environments will gain a spring feel with colorful pink blossoms.
    • This is new to Cappuccino and is not something that was included in the original game.
    • The website's main background will also be changed to fit in with the spring season!
  • Several Easter themed items will return to the Shop.
  • The food "Easter Dish" also becomes available in the Cookbook once more.
