To address comments made public and private about custom content in Cappuccino Café, I (Ant) decided to explain the choices made behind the additions.
I organized the article in Q&A format so It's easier to understand.

1. Why is there custom content in the game?

• The original game is unfinished. Café had food you unlocked until level 61 and after that, you get nothing new to cook. The game has 129 levels, meaning you'd be stuck with nothing new to cook for other 68 levels.
• There was planned content that was never implemented or scrapped.
• To keep the game fresh and with an active feel.

2. Who asked for (insert item here)?

• To those not familiar with the concept of a game update, the "new content" is usually something no one asked for. Other games have people that brainstorm ideas and create the new additions, in the case of Cappuccino Café, this brainstorming process is mostly done by me. However, the additions are supposed to be positive.
• There are channels in the Discord server just for suggestions and many of them have been made available in the game so, yes, someone asked for it.

3. Well, I did not ask for it!

• You can opt to not use the custom items at all. All original furniture and food are still available.

4. The new items look bad.

• I am not an artist. However, it's possible to take bits and pieces of other food, recolor them and "create" new food in the process. This keeps the additions somewhat in the game's original art style. The foods that are original artistic creations are: Coxinha, Ramen and Apple Pie.
• If you can do better, you are more than welcome to help out and update the sprites of the new food that look bad for you.

5. The items serve no purpose.

• New furniture: can be placed to decorate (this is a purpose)
• New food: more variety of dishes, more cultural dishes, dishes that use ingredients that are not used often, giving an use for coriander, and much more.
• And did you know? After a certain level around the 30s you used to stop unlocking new food every level! With the food additions, we're seeing more foods being available when you'd usually unlock 0 or 1 dishes.
• You can also opt to not use what serve no purpose for you.

6. There are too many new items!

• You can opt to only use items that appeal to you.
• You are not required to use any new items that you don't like.

7. I don't like the Pride Cupcakes!

• Honestly, getting angry over multicolored frosting in the big 2026 is backwards. The Cupcakes are staying because the month of June is Pride Month. It's not hard to respect though, you can just not cook them, it's okay.

8. I don't like that some members of the staff are LGBT!

• Well that's, who some of us are. If you ever enjoyed features such as:
  • Disco/Fashion furniture imported
  • Furniture recolors
  • Getting 1 gold for logging in daily
  • New customization colors for your Avatar
  • Cookfest
  • New items
• I'm sorry but all of these ideas came out of the brain of a homosexual. By playing the game you are in contact with a very LGBT positive project that is 70% managed by LGBT people. We won't (and don't even want to) make you wear a pride flag on your avatar, never.

9. I don't like YOU specifically!

• That's also a choice. You can hate me all you want but you still have to follow the rules of the Project you agreed upon sign-up. Offensive Language is filtered and reported to us, which will cause bans or mutes depending on the offense. You'll also have to guess which items I made and which ones I didn't to avoid my work. Hint: even the floor you step might be my work!
• If you also cause trouble in the Discord, staff will moderate you too.
• You can block/ignore me if you want on Discord.

10. I like what is new!

• Great! Just keep playing and give ideas if you want.

11. Will you keep adding stuff?

• Yes as long Gab lets me. And, you see, he reviews every single item added to the game too!
